8 tips on how to dress up for your interview

8 Tips on how to Dress up for your Interview.

Going to an interview sometime soon? Feel that butterfly feeling in your stomach? The last thing you want to do is showing up at an interview unprepared, looking lost or not dressed appropriately. We’ve had a series of girls coming in for interview not knowing that the image you portray compliments your resume. As much as we say we do not judge or deliberate based on how you look, but chances are, you are being analysed. So we came out with 8 tips on how you should dress up for your next job interview.

1) If you have a choice between flats and heels, we suggest you go for the heels. It does not have to be a 3 - 5 inch heels, you can just use a kitten heel. What it does it, it shows some sophistication. Some will sum you up based on what shoes you wear. The theory is, if you have care for your feet, you are definitely a responsible person as the feet seldom gets attention.

2) Don’t you ever turn up for an interview in your t-shirts, regardless how laid back the company is. The least you could do is dress decently to even show some interest to work in their company.

3) If you are not sure what colour to pick, choose a darker colour, navy blue, emerald green, dark brown but one thing is for sure, you will never go wrong with black and white. For those who are daring and bold, red is a colour of power a colour of confidence.

4) If you were to wear a skirt, it should not be above your knees for the non muslims. You don’t want to look skimpy. For muslim ladies, an A line skirt would be substantial, something flare is acceptable as well. Bare in mind that you want to look elegant and chic not looking like a skank.

5) We do not recommend that you wear a dress on your interview day. If you throw on a blazer than it is acceptable. having a blazer or a smart jacket gives a a good 1st impression. Although an unbuttoned blazer does not serve the purpose, it makes you look sloppy.

6) Please do not wear leggings or jeans for your interview, wear a smart pants, nothing too tight.

7) You should wear some make up, but it should be mild. Most important is that it should make you look professional. Don’t put on a make up as if you are going clubbing.

8) Last but not least, pick a hand bag rather than a clutch bag. This just shows that you are a practical person.

Hopefully with these tips, it brings you closer to getting your dream job! Good luck! Be confidence and believe that you are the best.
